Like the QuickDraw System but without the reservoir, the easy-to-use QuickDraw Microfilter will revolutionize your adventure filtration system. With its inside/outside (I/O) dual-thread design, the QuickDraw filter cartridge securely adapts to smartwater® bottles, most Platy bottles and reservoirs and many common soda/water bottles allowing you to develop your ideal personalized kit. Weighing just 2.2 oz (63 g) and filtering up to 3L per minute, the QuickDraw allows simple fill-and-squeeze water filtration during ultralight missions and any other adventure. You can either shake-to-clean the hollow fiber filter or perform a tool-free backflush to ensure the fast flow rates will stick around for the duration of your trips. Design elements like the attached clean side cap and grippy-but-not-sticky filter housing eliminate frustrations like leaking water in the pack, lost small parts, and dirt-caked gear so you can confidently go out and explore the wilderness.

Lightweight and just what I was looking for

I’m updating my original review, as I initially thought that this would work out great for me, however, after I got it all set up, the flow just never got to the proclaimed flow rate of one liter per minute, it actually got worse, and no matter what I did it just got worse, it would filter one liter in about five minutes, that’s how bad it was. I back-flushed the unit, and the flow rate was just never there. I made the mistake of taking it on a 40 mile through hike in the Pecos Wilderness in New Mexico, and it failed after the first day, it just completely stopped working after day one, not ideal for a 6 day hiking trip, luckily my group had multiple options to filter water. If I could give this unit zero stars, I would. This is not an item I would recommend, and will stick to my Katadyn Hiker unit, even though it’s heavier and bulkier, it has never failed me. I do regret making this purchase, but hey, live and learn!

Quickdraw Filter

Testing this against a Sawyer Mini, I think this one is going to win out in everything besides cost and size. Overall happy to get this, can never have too many filters.

Platypus Quickdraw

The platypus works great and has a decent water flow rate. Easy to use with Cnoc. I have used one before, and I bought a second for backup. Make sure to read the manual and backflush/clean the filter between uses in the field.

Great Filter

I have several filters I've used and they have let me down including the pumps that were all the rage when I was younger. The S. Mini was too hard to filter through for my kid. The Grayl is great, but I don't want the bulk all the time. This filter is lightweight and easy to pack. Works with all kinds of bottles and comes with an adapter to transfer directly into a regular gas station water bottle. It filters easily so my younger kids can use it.

Platypus Quickdraw

This is my go to filter for backpacking. It has excellent water flow, lasts a really long time, and screws directly onto Smart water bottles and popular water bladders. Unlike the Sawyer, you can do a test on it to see if it has been compromised if you think it might have froze overnight. My order arrived quickly and I was very pleased.

Best Water Filter On The Market

Let me start by saying I have tried them all and I am serious. Platypus I think set back, watched and took a little from every player out there and built the perfect filter. Versatility, usability and convenience alone make this great not to mention you have 3 ways to clean it, ON THE TRAIL!!! The flow is amazing and fast and it is ultralight weight.

Will give a better review when I've used it.
